I’ve been in an Entrepreneurial leadership training over the past month, and part of the assignment being given is market research, so I’ve been doing market research the past week or two and has it shown me many things. Not just the obvious things either it was much deeper. As a coach, I am in a constant state of learning exploring questioning observing all while thinking of my clients as well as looking at myself. The primary motivation for even doing market research is to discover on a deeper level what my client’s desires and needs are for their life. During this research the findings I had were warm loving and hopeful while others were hard, some were even a bit saddening, but the amount of hopefulness that was uncovered made the hard and sad developments more palatable.
Here are a few of my breakthroughs:
- We all are truly more alike than we are different
- Parents of teens/young adults are far more scared than they let on
- Teens/young adults really do want the hug but need not to look like they want the hug
- Everyone no matter how old they are, gender they identify with, belief system or home they live in, all crave in their hearts the same thing…………………………………………CONNECTION!
So, the next time you start to get down on yourself, the next time you start to feel scared or want a hug, be brave and speak up letting those that care about and love you, see that part of you. When we do this something magical happens, we……………….CONNECT.
